What is happening in Askfält, version by version. The game is developed in small steps, and each version is released in the web version as soon as it has been tested.

  1. BetaiPhone and iPad

The iPhone app is in TestFlight

Askfält is now an app for iPhone and iPad in Apple's TestFlight beta programme. It is the same game as on the web, packaged so that everything lives on the phone and works offline. The first builds are being tested internally on real phones: graphics, touch, sound, saving and resuming.

    • Sound starts when you lift your finger after the first tap and plays even when the ring/silent switch is set to silent.
    • The target is the App Store on November 1, 2026 – subject to testing and Apple's review.
  2. In progressv2.3

    Roads and logistics 2.0

    • Plan a road with a start, a goal and up to two waypoints, see the price before you order it, and upgrade chosen stretches straight from the map.
    • A new Logistics view: traffic, waiting goods, the cargo and routes of the trucks, and why something is stuck.
    • Road building shares carriers with ordinary deliveries, even when the colony has only one free carrier.
  3. In progressv2.2

A stable foundation and an economy that can restart

    • The economy can restart even if the last lumber camp or workshop is gone – a free adult in the bunker can slowly gather and make parts by hand.
    • A loading screen on start, clearer error messages and a tent camp at the edge of the territory for survivors waiting for beds.
    • Better readability on small screens, clearer campaign texts and daily reports that can be turned off.
  4. Releasedv2.1

The story and level pages in new art

    • The story has five new images in isometric pixel art – from the server hall where the Net awoke to the growing colony.
    • Every campaign level has its own image, and the help shows the buildings as they look on the map.
    • A tent camp for groups waiting for beds, and a new app icon.
  5. Releasedv2.0

The whole map in isometric pixel art

Gravel roads, cracked asphalt and well-trodden paths. Carriers carry a lashed package in front of them and trucks drive with packages stacked on the bed.

  6. Releasedv1.9–1.9.3

    Isometric view and new art

    • The map is shown at an angle from above. All buildings, ruins, forests, ground and people are redone in pixel art.
    • Workers dress for their trade, construction sites get scaffolding and fields grow in three stages.
    • A new splash screen and menu.
  7. Releasedv1.8

    A deeper economy

A tree nursery and forests that grow back, crop fields, stock targets, productivity per building and experience that makes workers faster.

  8. Releasedv1.6–1.7.1

    Hills, valleys and living forests

Elevation on the map, Swedish nature in double resolution, trees that fall and leave stumps, and paths that follow the direction people walk. Roads make people and robots faster.

  9. Releasedv1.5–1.5.2

    The second act

Four new campaign levels – the Ash Cloud, the Slag Hill, the Alliance and the Net's Core – guard robots and shareable map codes. The installed app asks when a new version is available.

  10. Releasedv1.1–1.4.1

    Wind, roads and sound

Wind and storms, natural movement, settlements in the ruins, roads built by the carriers, wall segments, wind power and batteries – and layered music that follows day, night and threat.

  11. Releasedv1.0

    The first version

Askfält becomes an installable web app that works offline, with a campaign, free play and three save slots. Before that: versions 0.1–0.19 with production chains, the campaign, night and rest, morale, trade and the new renderer.

The full version history is in the game under Help (in Swedish). Last updated October 11, 2026.
